Tough Luggage for Overland Land Rovers
Metal Mule, who make tough aluminium luggage systems for overland bikers, are now offering the same world beating product to Land Rover owners.
Paul Goulding, founder of Metal Mule, designed the luggage after riding a motorcycle from New Zealand to the UK. Since then, Metal Mule boxes have become a byword for strength and durability among overland bikers.
Now Paul Marsh – the preparation specialist for hardcore overland 4x4s – has teamed up with Metal Mule to develop a similar luggage system for Land Rovers. Paul and his wife took two prototype boxes on a harsh three-month trip from London to Sydney by Discovery 300Tdi. “They were superb,” he says, “everything I’d hoped for – strong, durable and very secure.”
Metal Mule’s Land Rover roof boxes are constructed from riveted 2mm 5251 H22, NS4 grade aluminium, with stainless steel hinge and rugged handles. An internal cam lock makes them completely secure, and they have an IP65 electrical rating against water and dust ingress. Every rivet is individually sealed, and Metal Mule boxes are completely waterproof. Durable too, thanks to a tough grey powder coat finish. And once bolted securely to the roof rack, they provide security and peace of mind in the worlds harshest environments!
